The bitterly harsh leafbare is finally over, and along with the returning heat, cats are expecting returning prey. But as time goes by, they realize that their prey has not yet returned, and they know they will starve soon, if things continue this way. Meanwhile, there is strange scents everywhere, and no cat has smelled it before. A strange prophecy is brought to the medicine cats, and the words 'Bringer of Death' continuously rings in their minds. Strange aliances occur, while joining some cats, push others further away.
